It's A Hard Life

Each day new problems keep coming into my life, and they are getting bigger by the day :D. Job search, economy, CIS 657 just to name a few.

I am definitely going home anytime soon, mostly not for another year.

I wanna go home :(

It shall be third consecutive Diwali when i will be away from home. I wanna go home very very very desperately and I CANNOT. Well the irony, you are "DESPERATE" only when "YOU CANNOT".

Why I should not go home in the middle of the semester?

1) I am enrolled in a course which surely is the toughest course of my life, missing classes and lab sessions is absolute blasphemy.

2) I am broke, I do not even have enough money to buy a ticket to California leave alone India.

3) I shall miss out on some Job Interviews, being in my final semester JOB-Search is like my Holy Grail Conquest.

4) This is the most crucial period of my degree program, economy is in its worst condition ever, spending 10 days on home is like going for a stroll in the park when your island is expecting a Tsunami.

Why I should go?

No reason, I just wanna go :(. I am missing home.

Am i going? Even i do not know, will decide soon.

What was Apple thinking ?

Recently i was checking out the Apple website as i was looking to upgrade the software on my iPod Touch, actually i wanted to read the terms and conditions. And this is how the page shows


See something weird? Read the line carefully, "iPhone 2.1 Software Update for iPod touch".
WTH, why should iPod software be named as "iPhone 2.1 Software"? Mr. Jobs I know a lot of the people around are dumb and need the "iPhone" label just to buy products. But some are not that dumb and understand Shakespeare when he said "Whats in a Name". So can we please not use such fake/stupid names.

Somehow I am getting a growing feeling each day I spend with Apple products, In my head their price tag is outweighing their quality. My iPod touch has crashed thrice in last two months. I accept the fact that it is jailbroken and so I inserted a lot of instability but I am not impressed even with the basic software that comes with the hardware. It is definitely not as sturdy as Mr. Jobs claims it to be.

Somehow I am glad I havent bought a Macbook and a iPhone yet, both of them were high priority till some time back, not anymore though.

Art, does it mean the same anymore ?

The whole world is crazy about Jaane tu ya Jaane Na. A few days back one of my friends pinged me on IM and without even performing the formalities of Hi, How are you? he/she asked me "have you seen Jaane tu ya Jaane Na". So i said "NO, I have not", and as god as my witness i regret that honest answer to this day, he/she went on and on about the movie for at least fifteen more minutes. Almost the same thing happened with every single desi person I have on my IM friends list.

Seeing the enthusiasm of so many people i thought I myself should give the movie a try. So i went to the usual online movie portal and decided to have a dinner date with this movie. The result, i could not bear the torture of such an ill-constructed movie past 50 minutes. I dont know what is the correct word to use here so i am writing the ones which i think collectively express my opinion about the movie, (disappointed, sad, discouraged, let down etc etc).

I questioned myself on the different aspects of movie making with respect to this film and here are my questions and answers,

Acting - Even my hypothetical dog could have acted better. Actors do not even look good.

Story - Probably the production house was too short of finances to pay an actual story writer to write one.

Technical Details - There were none that are worth talking about.

Entertainment - No humor, no thrill, no action, no horror, no reality, no virtuality, no comic-ness, no seriousness, very very average music composition, less than average lyrics for songs.

I had this notion in my mind that movie making is a form of art and various artists particiapte in the process to contribute their skills to the whole process. But clearly someone is misunderstading the concept. And i get a feeling its not ME who is on the wrong side of the line. Well so what, millions of crappy movies are made around the world every year. The part that is astonishing, saddening, thought-provoking, a lot and i mean a lot of people like this crap.

And i dont give a F**K that so many people like it, the movie always was, still is and always will remain a piece of crap.

I Missed It !!! :(

The Wimbledon final match between Federer and Nadal is being claimed as one of the best sporting events ever and I missed it [:(]. To top the irony i was sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. This is absolute blasphemy for a boy of my age.

The only way to make up for the loss is to see a final match live sitting on the seats of theeee "Center Court".

I hope I do that someday.
